Surf

Playa Maderas, the most popular and consistent wave in the San Juan del Sur, offers a variety of waves. A left-hand point breaks along the southern headland and varies in shape with the size of the swell. The more consistent beach break is fun on almost any size. This is a great place for the advandced and beginner surfer alike.  It is about a 20 minute drive north of town.

Playa Remanso is a beautiful beach and offers a variety of waves for beginners and experienced surfers as well.  It is about a 15 minute drive to the south of town.

Playa Hermosa is yet another great option that is a must-see.  It is about a 25 minute drive south of town.
